The Costarican Federation obtained the honour to host the qualifying round for Chinese Taipei 2004. In a first time it seemed that Guatemala was ready to organize the event, but due to financial and politics problems of the country, CONCACAF choose another place. A good chance for the team trained by Carlos Quiros Alvarez in order to have the ticket for Chinese Taipei.
