CSA Futsal Championships this week in Kingston

Year-end tournament kicks off this Thursday at Queen's University.

Eight teams from five provinces and two territories will participate in the 2018 Futsal Canadian Championship 19-22 April 2018 at Queen’s University in Kingston, ON. Saskatchewan, Ontario and Quebec, who played for the 2017 Championship will be joined by Nunavut, Yukon, Alberta, Manitoba and a second entrant from Quebec to round out the field of eight in 2018. All matches will be streamed LIVE via CanadaSoccer.com with the final scheduled for Sunday, 22 April at 14:30 ET.

2017 Futsal Canadian Championship winners Sporting Montreal FC represented Canada in the 2017 CONCACAF Futsal Club Championships. With a second team from Quebec qualifying for the 2018 competition, Sporting Montreal FC will return in 2018 while the winning team from Premier Ligue de Futsal du Quebec will fill the second Quebec slot. The Quebec league wraps up play on 23 March.

Representing the Yukon, Yukon Selects FC will join the four other newcomers in Kingston. Manitoba’s provincial champion will be crowned on 27 January in Winnipeg at the final of Manitoba’s Provincial Futsal Championship. Nunavut will hold their provincial play-downs 8-11 February, Saskatchewan 2-4 March, Alberta 18-19 March, while Ontario’s Futsal Cup will crown a provincial champion and Championship entrant on 24-25 March.
