 Guatemala confirms Futsal roster for quadrangular next week in Anaheim. (California, USA) 25/11/2003: Technical director Carlos Eduardo Estrada has confirmed Guatemala’s Futsal roster for the international quadrangular called “Futsal Goal Cup”, begin held next month in Anaheim, California USA.
The event, which includes Canada, Mexico and the USA, will be held from 5-7 December 2003 at the Anaheim Convention Center is hosted by the US Futsal Federation, which is an affiliate body of the US Soccer Federation.
Estrada’s squad includes seven players that competed at the 2003 KL World 5’s in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia from 4-7 June, where the chapines advanced the “Plate” semifinals.
Last week, the technical directors, Jesús Bravo Reyna of Mexico, and Keith Tozer of the USA, unveiled their respective Futsal rosters for the quadrangular event.
All four CONCACAF teams competing in Anaheim next week are in preparations for next year’s CONCACAF Qualification event that eventually leads to the 2004 FIFA Futsal World Championship. A record 20 CONCACAF National Associations will compete in the preliminary rounds of the tournament for one of seven berths to the Final Round in Costa Rica that will advance two teams to the World Championship event to be hosted by Chinese Taipei.
