Futsalengland.co.ukFIFA Headquarters, overlooking the lake in Zurich, Switzerland, was once again the venue for the latest round of talks between
Victor Beceiro, Head of World Futsal at
FIFA and senior board members of
Futsal England.
The daylong meeting allowed both parties to cover a wide range of areas concerning the development of Futsal in England. Each was left in no doubt that Futsal England, through the delivery of its Futsal Development Plan, would be the driving force in the development of the sport in England over the coming years.
The importance of having a structured and focused delivery of technical programmes for coaching and refereeing across all levels was recognised by all concerned as one of, if not the most important factor in the development of any sport.
It is not surprising therefore, that putting in place the framework to allow the delivery of this Technical knowledge to take place for Futsal in England, is one of the main aims of both organizations.
‘It is absolutely crucial for the rapid growth of Futsal in England that we can provide a world class ‘Futsal Education’ to the growing number of coaches and referees who are becoming involved in the sport.’ commented
Neil Thompson, Strategy and Development, Futsal England.
‘By working in tandem with Victor Beceiro at FIFA, along with other key figures in supporting organizations, we will be able to deliver technical expertise, from the worlds best referees, coaches and players into the hearts and minds of the expanding Futsal community in England.’
The options open for the education of referees, coaches and administrators of the game through a variety of different mediums including specialized seminars and courses were covered, with Futsal England once again underlining their commitment to FIFA to working towards this through a FIFA implementation mandate and graciously accepted the support received.
Exciting times ahead for Futsal in England…
