The Futsal market in Switzerland will certainly grow. The Switzerland Futsal Association is a new partner of the project “I want Olympic Futsal.”

The Swiss futsal history started in October 2000 in Zurique City. Alberto Pastor and Sabrina Ben Salah started their project to promote futsal on all levels in order to obtain its official recognition in that region. First they organized, small tournaments and introduced a futsal course for children between 10 and 15 years old in Zurich City.
The international organizations such as FIFA, UEFA, Swiss Soccer Association, and sports departments of Zurich City were contacted and consulted to secure their help and support.

The strategy to develop a futsal program was basically created around four points:

1- Develop futsal at schools in all levels;
2 – Start a National Tournament (Swiss Futsal League), in charge of to promote futsal in Central Europe (CEFA);
3- Organize special tournaments in Switzerland;
4- Institute the Central European Futsal Association (CEFA).

Alberto Pastor – Futsal director of sports and a member of CEFA, was born in 21/05/1970 in Barcelona and lives in Zurich since 1999. His experience with futsal is a product of many years of working as a referee, an instructor and an educator for schools’ tournaments. His goal is to see the National Swiss Futsal Team participate in world futsal competition.

Sabrina Ben Salah - Director of youth organization is involved with Swiss futsal. She was born 07/05/1975 in Zurich City. She likes to work with her passion, which are soccer and its connection with social services. At least one time, she would enjoy seeing her soccer and futsal clubs win an official tournament.


Alberto Pastor contacted Sao Paulo Futsal Federation to contribute with the campaign “I Want Olympic Futsal”; he demonstrates a lot of excitement in this project. Alberto Pastor’s location in Zurich and Switzerland is convenient for access to international organizations: FIFA (zurich), UEFA (Nyon), International Olympic Committee (Lausanne), UN (Geneva). He is able to help with all documents and project presentations to make futsal a part or The Summer Olympics.

He “plays a key role with” the Swiss Soccer Association and Liechtenstein Soccer Association, which are involved with futsal’s development in both countries. He is also a member of Central European Futsal Association (CEFA), and supports the futsal’s development in German and Austria.

Through Pastor- SFA has opened the doors by contributing to the publishing of “I want Olympic futsal” campaign. He is accomplish this by publishing an article in the next Swiss futsal magazine, a banner of the campaign on the web site of Swiss futsal association and the gym where all matches are broadcasted, while promoting CEFA’s advertising.

Futsal in Central Europe (Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Liechtenstein) is making their first futsal steps. The market has a lot of potential because 90 million people create a good economic environment. During five moths of snow outdoor soccer is not played. So, the futsal development will be a success in that region.

Swiss is the key to this promotional endeavor because of its high profile in the sport’s world and its central geographic location in Europe. To promote the futsal campaign “I Want Olympic Futsal” with the development of the sport in Central Europe are the goals of Sao Paulo Futsal Federation and Swiss Futsal Association. Both organizations would like to promote the sport through demonstration projects to achieve more support. The opportunity of Brazilian companies to grown in that region is big, and as a result, it will also help other companies, which are already part of the European market.

In Switzerland live probably 50 mil Brazilians, who are legally. Therefore, this makes futsal secured. Moreover, the Olympic futsal project will open many door in Brazil also for Switzerland and Germany business to grow overseas.
