 Report from Chinese Futsal League (Special thanks to Alistair Miller for his help)
The 4th round of the first china futsal league finished on last Sunday, 21 of March, in Chengdu. Chengdu Lummy futsal club had a 4:4 draw with the league leader Guangzhou Guowang in the last game with total league points 31 on the second place on league table. Guangzhou futsal is on the first place with 46 points. Hubei Dilong futsal club is placed on the third with 29 points on the league table. Dalian Shide futsal is still on the bottom of the table with 15 points although it has got 2 wins on this round. Beijing futsal and Shanghai futsal are the fourth and fifth on the table with 24 and 23 points respectively. Chengdu Lummy futsal club, coached by the Brazilian coach Farinha, played very well on the last game with Guangzhou. It was 1:1 for the first half and was seizing the lead till the last one minute for 4:3 in the second half with 5 fouls for each of the side. However, unfortunately, the ref rewarded Guangzhou a controversial penalty for the foul by one of the Chengdu players in their own D area.
Farinha's team also tied Hubei with 3:3 and beat Shanghai 4:3 and Shide 3:2. The club team lost to Beijing 2:4.
There are still two rounds to play in Guangzhou and Shanghai in April and May for the rest of the national futsal league. 6 Futsal clubs from 6 cities participates in the first national futsal league. Each city hosts a round for the league with 15 games and each team has 30 games to play in the whole league.
Farinha chaired the first training session organized by the CFA for the club coaches and the coaches applied for this clinic across the country. CFA posted an announcement on the portal website Sina, one of the most popular website in China to make publicity of this training clinic by Farinha in Chengdu. The training session lasts 3 days. All the futsal club coaches are compulsory to take part in and many of the university coaches around Chengdu are eagerly involved. The training session is combined by the lectures and the field exercises by watching the training sessions of the national team camp also coached by Farinha. The national futsal team camp is the preparation for the Asian Futsal Cup organized by the AFC in Macau, April. The camp will not finish until the 10 of April, and the final 14 players will be selected from the so far 19 players on the camp. China is grouped with Malaysia, Thailand and Guam Island in the Asian cup. The Brazilian coach Farinha is in a desperate need of an international friendly game to test his players before the inaugural of the Asian cup.
