The chinese national futsal team has finished its one-month camp here in Chengdu and has prepared to go to the Asian futsal cup to be held in Macau on April 16. The team coached by the Brazilian Farinha will consolidate today in Beijing to take the flight to Macau.
Mr. GUILHERME CARVALHO FRANCO DA SILVEIRA, nicknamed by Farinha, is the coach for the Chengdu Lummy Futsal Club since last November. He is the only one foreign futsal coach here in China since the inaugural of the first Chinese Futsal League on last December 20, 2003. So far, the club team trained by Farinha is on the 2nd place of the league table. Over the past three months, Farinha was nominated by the Chinese Football Association to chair the 2 camps for the selection of the national team and one session for the local futsal coaches. There are 3 players from the Chengdu Lummy Futsal on the national team.
The Chinese futsal league will come to the end at the end of May and the contract between the Farinha and the club will expire at the same time. The Brazilian expressed his wish to locate here with his family on a more permanent basis in China.
