Last friday was played the fifht round of the Albanian Futsal League. In Group 1 Tirana is in the first top of the table with 11 points, even if the runner up Besa (10 points) played a match less. In the second group Dinamo won all matches played until now.

Note on the history of Albanian Futsal by Albania Soccer

The Albanian Futsal Association, an affiliation of Albanian Soccer Federation, has decided to take the sport of Futsal into the next level.
The President of the Association, Mr. Alfred Zijai had announced the introduction of the First Albanian National Futsal Championship, started on March 26, 2004 with the participation of 14 teams from all over the country, splitted in two groups of seven teams each. After six rounds of regular matches, teams will participate in Play-Offs in a system to be announced in the future.
It is true that as a first time Tournament, difficulties will be present at certain times, but the idea of this start has been admired and supported by all. Albania had participated in European Futsal Championship the last two years, with Flamurtari in 2002-03 season and Olimpic (known as Dinamo now) in 2003-04 season. In both seasons, Albanian selections lost badly, but the experience was important. Meanwhile, an participation to look after was the second place in the preliminary matches for the European Futsal Championship played in Areana of Vlora in Albania. After a 8-6 win over England and a 1-1 tie with Cyprus, Albania took the second place in goal differences from Cyprus who beat England 8-4.
