Dalian Shide Futsal club has announced to pull out of the first Chinese futsal division one league. The 5th round of the first Chinese futsal league is to be held on 28 April in Guangzhou. But until 26 April, the Dalian shide futsal team had not showed up in Guangzhou. After the phone contact with Dalian shide club, it was confirmed that the club had decided to withdraw from the league.

So far, the reason why dalian shide pulles out of the league is not clear. It is assumed by the journalists here that the aggravation between the Dalain shide FC and the CFA maybe result in the withdrawal. Dalian Shide FC is the 5 time champions in the Chinese division one football league, and it is the only one Division one football club having its futsal branch in China. However, in futsal league, dalian shide futsal team did not perform as well as its football brother bringing up the rear on the league table with only 15 points with 2 rounds left to play. Mathematically, the Guangzhou Guowang (fruit king) futsal club has secured its 1st place with 31 points.

Obviously, it is not the only one setback to the first Chinese futsal league. The league expected at least 8 clubs to be involved at the very beginning, but only 6 clubs eventually took part in. But the CFA has showed the determination to carry on this league and planed a compulsory binding package for all the 12 division one football clubs, which would participate in the super league replacing the divion one league this year, to have their own futsal branches.

Ironically, dalian shide FC was very enthusiastic in organizing the opening ceremony for the first futsal league last December. But after only half a year, the passion for futsal seemed on the ebb and its 5-time champion football team was looking for the chance to register on the Singapore football league. According to the league rule, and team’s withdrawal in the course of the league would incur a heavy fine by the CFA.
