Issued by The Sheffield & Hallamshire County Football Association19 May 2004NACRO secure place in Futsal National FinalsThe Sheffield & Hallamshire County F.A staged a Futsal festival at the Sheffield University for students to win a place in the prestigious FA National Futsal Finals.
The winning team of students were
NACRO who will now go through and represent Sheffield in the Futsal Finals.
Teams of students from across the city entered the competition, with the winners going through to the Futsal Finals to be held at English Institute of Sport on 18-20 June.
Regional heats are being held all over the country with the winners qualifying for the finals.
James Hope-Gill, Chief Executive of the County F.A. said “The Regional heat was saw students really competing for a place in the National Finals. Teams were determined to win, given that extra incentive that the Futsal Finals will be held here in Sheffield, which made the qualifying tournament even more competitive. Following the success of the day and number of teams who entered we are now looking to stage a Futsal league at the Goodwin centre.”
