CONCACAF.comMexico wins North/Central Series 3 opener20.5.04 Mexico won the first-leg of the 2004 CONCACAF Futsal Preliminary North/Central Zone Qualifying Series 2, with a 10:4 victory over visiting El Salvador at the Gimnasio Carlos Martínez Balmori in Pachuca, Hidalgo on Thursday evening.
Guillermo Castañeda and Héctor Guzmán each score three times for the tricolor, while Jesus Contreras, Victor Huerta, Arturo Lopez and Miguel Olivera all added a goal in the victory.
Mexico will meet El Salvador in the Series' second-leg scheduled for Saturday, 22 May at the Gimnasio Carlos Martínez Balmori at 21:00.
The eight-team CONCACAF Final Round will qualify two nations to the 2004 FIFA Futsal World Championship, to be held in Chinese Taipei from 21 November - 5 December.
