San Lorenzo de Almagro surprisingly lost its home match against Platense in the 9th round of the Argentinian League, Apertura tournament 2004. Due to this results both Boca Juniors (victory over General Lamadrid, see details below) and Pinocho, that defeated River Plate, reached the top of the table. Another defeat for Acassuso, the only one team without any points, while the match between Social Parque and UGAB was suspended due to the rain.
