The Futsal word is spreading. Futsal England hosted the South London at Crystal Palace Qualifier and it couldn’t have been closer with any one of four teams still in with a fighting chance on the final day.

If this is the face of grassroots then the future is indeed……..’FUTSAL’.

Hanwell Town Youth, a team comprising of several talented youngsters from South America, survived a month of competitive fixtures to come out winners.

It could not have been closer as they held on to the tinniest of leads, qualifying on a goal difference of a solitary goal, over their rivals Baltic FC.

‘The team have shown composure and good strength when it mattered..…I feel so proud………..we can’t wait till the National Finals. Through the fabulous efforts and organisation of Futsal England we now have a genuine opportunity to put ourselves on the Futsal map….!’ Commented Sandro Sandri, Coach and Manager of Hanwell Town Youth.

Crystal Palace is a perfect venue for Futsal with its impressive Main Arena. The Management and Staff could not have been more helpful in making this a successful event and Futsal England are now in negotiations to establish a Futsal Development Programme at the venue and see the facility as an important part of their future plans.
