Oxford Brookes University qualify for Futsal Finals
The Futsal England Oxford Qualifying League, was dominated throughout by the talented team form Oxford Brookes University. They played well as a team, with a squad that has had to work under a squad rotation system governed by full time study and end of year exams.
The lads adapted well to the Futsal specific rules and regulations and with so many possessing individual skill they soon found that futsal was suited to their natural flair. Plenty of goals were the reward for a game plan that was highlighted by patient build up and incisive forward movements.
"……the refereeing was harsh and stringent, but I suppose that is the only way to ensure the disciplines are learnt by the players, especially if this produces a level playing filed. Our European counterparts have been playing the game right from school years and we have a lot to learn. These leagues are a start and we look forward to getting involved with the future leagues that Futsal England have planned".
"I used to play abroad and it is great to see that whilst still on a small scale everything is being done correctly from day one".
The Oxford Brookes team have the right temperament to become a quality futsal side and we look forward to working along side them over the coming years.
