Futsal England ...
CITY RIVALS MEET AT FA FINALS

Former stars of Sheffield Wednesday and Sheffield United will grace the stage at the FA National Futsal Finals.

David Hirst, Carlton Palmer, Jon Newsome, Glyn Hodges, Chris Wilder and Tom Cowan will renew their old rivalry this Sunday (June 20), when the city's two football clubs meet in an exhibition match at the prestigious tournament.

The match takes place at Sheffield's English Institute of Sport on Coleridge Road, Attercliffe, with a 2.00pm kick-off.

Admission to the event is free and the game takes place in-between the semi-finals and finals of the tournament, which produces England's representative in the 2005 UEFA Futsal Cup.

Dermot Collins, the FA's National Development Manager for Small-Sided Football, said: "Some of the players are travelling a great distance to be involved in this game. The draw of playing in a Sheffield derby is always an attractive prospect to the former players and we are looking forward to an interesting contest."

Futsal was born on the streets of Sao Paulo, Brazil and has grown to become FIFA's official version of 5-a-side football.

Sixteen teams from around England have qualified for the event, including two from Sheffield - the Hillsborough Phoenix and Sheffield Hallam.

The semi-finals and finals will take place on Sunday, June 20 from 1pm.
Daily kick-off times are: Friday - 6.00pm, Saturday - 10.00am, Sunday - 9.30am.

The full squad list is:

Sheffield Wednesday Masters - Bob Bolder, Jon Newsome, Carlton Palmer, Wayne Collins, Charlie Williamson, Imre Varadi, David Hirst, Lawrie Madden.

Sheffield United Masters - Chris Wilder, Peter Duffield, Tom Cowan, Glyn Hodges, Paul Beesley, Adam Burley.
