ANLABY CLAIM TITLE AT FA FINALS

Anlaby All Stars won the Plate competition at the FA National Futsal Finals.
The Hull-based side claimed the title in dramatic style with a 5-4 golden goal win against Derby University at the English Institute of Sport in Sheffield on Sunday (June 20).

Sixteen teams from across the country took part in the finals, with Anlaby qualifying from the Hull regional league.

Anlaby secured the silverware after enjoying a four-game winning run and Manager Mick Matthews was pleased to return home with a trophy.

He said: "It was a tough, competitive tournament and while we are
disappointed not to win the national tournament, we are happy to come away with the Plate title.

"The Finals are becoming stronger and stronger each year and we are already looking forward to playing in them next season."

London-based Team USSR won the National competition by beating Tranmere Victoria in the final and will now represent England in the 2005 UEFA Futsal Cup.

Sports Minister Richard Caborn presented the winning trophy at the
prestigious FA tournament.

Hull's Warners all weather arena will be holding more Futsal leagues and anyone interested in joining should contact Mick Matthews on 01482 505850.
