The African Futsal Championship are not beeing a successfull tournament, unfortunately for futsal development.

The tournament was previously scheduled in Il Cairo (Egypt) but the Egyptian Federation renounced to host the event due to financial problems (See our previous news here). A new formula was arranged but the organizing problems are not solved.

According to the CAF web site no one of the four matches planned for the first leg of the first round was played: three of them are deleted due to the withdrawal of a team in every pairing: Sudan, Cape Verde and Cameroon. The fourth match between Egypt and South Africa has been postponed to July 9th.

Due to this withdrawals three teams, Morocco, Guinea Bissau and Mozambique are already in semifinal.
