Futsal in Venezuela is running fast. A lot of activities are developing our wonderful sport all around the South American country.

The local qualifying round were already played (eliminatorias zonales) and now, between August and Septemeber the national leagues Under 13, 15, 17 (Under 17 is both male and female) will be played, as also the national leagues Under 20 (male and female champs).

In the meanwhile also the National State championship, male and female leagues, will be played in the "amateur" level, with the presence of 24 teams for each category.


Talking about the most important league in Venezuela, the professional one, we can add that the Clausura Tournament will start at the end of July. with 8 clubs taking part in the Liga Central de Venezuela: Samanes, Lanceros, Guerreros, La Unica, Vargas, Hogar Canario and a club from Valencia and one from the Portuguese colony.

In the "Liga Occidental will play ten teams shared in the states of Zulia, Trujillo, Merida, Táchira, Portuguesa and Lara.


In the middle of September will start the school leagues (the first one will be the Under 15 male and female league): the better way to improve the level of the teams in future.

And, last but not least, all is ready for the great experience of the Venezuelan champion and Vice Champion Samanes de Aragua and La Unica in Quito (Ecuador, 15-20/8/2004) in order to play the Merconorte Cup with the best South American teams.

In addition we have also to remember that, in the recent 1st South American Championship Under 20, Venezuela reached a prestigious second place in Fortaleza, the best demonstration of how Venezuela is working on Futsal!
