Also the third day of the
OFC Tournament in Canberra is over.
Australia won its third match in a row, showing an unbeatable defence until now: 14 goals scored and none taken for the
Scott Gilligan's squad. In the Australian's wake keep on beeing only
Vanuatu, that defeated Samoa, and
New Zealand, that won over the Solomon Islands. There is a place for Chinese Taipei: who will get it?

Vanuatu - Samoa
7-4 (2-1)With the score 2-1 to Vanuatu at half time, the game looked liked being tight. Samoa fought back to take the lead in the 26th minute, after Junior Michael put away 2 quick goals to lead 3-2, but faded away as Vanuatu put away 5 quick goals in 10 minutes. Derek Malas continued his scoring form for Vanuatu scoring another 3 goals. Final score 7-4 to Vanuatu. Samoa are improving as the tournament goes on and I think someone will be end of a defeat from them.

New Zealand - Solomon Islands
8-4 (5-3) After facing their biggest game of the tournament the night before, New Zealand started off a little flat. Going in with a half time score of 5-3 they came out in the second half and settled down to dominate and put away another 3 in the second half. Captain Nathan Robertson put in an outstanding performance for New Zealand scoring 5. Although losing , Solomon showed some excellent natural skills, and playing at this tournament will be an excellent base for the future for them.

Australia - Fiji
1-0 (1-0)In a game that took only 65 minutes to complete, Australia had a 1-0 win, although never really in any danger. Although early attacking each other , once Australia got the lead, they were happy to settle back and defend on halfway, while Fiji also appeared to be happy to lose only 1-0. Thus the game became constant passing across the back keeping possession. The highlight of the game was another great piece of skill from 17 year old Cleveland High School student Danny Ngaluafe to score the lone goal.
Scorer:
5' Danny Ngaluafe (1-0)
Referees: Alian Alick ( Vanuatu) and Ben Lemana (Samoa)
