It's definitely a bad news from Brazil: Corinthians futsal club will disappear. One of the most important club from the Paulista federation decided to close its futsal section due to financial problems. After losing the main sponsorization given by Unicid, the Corinthians staff tried to find other financial supporters in order to survive and take part in the following tournaments.
Even if a previous agreement with the "Universidade de Mogi das Cruzes" (UMC) was reached, and some prestigious arrivals like the talented Leandrinho were defined, the Corinthians group decided to close the futsal team.

Corinthians, recent winner of the XXVII Troféu Cidade de São Paulo (click here for more details) and of the Metropolitano 2004 (more details here) will not take part, for this reason, to the next "Estadual" championship and to the Copa Rio São Paulo Minas, where it will be replaced by ECB/São Bernardo (as runner up of the XXVII Troféu Cidade de São Paulo).
