Spain to face Chinese Taipei

It will be a case of hosts against holders when the 2005 FIFA World Futsal Championship is played between 21 November and 5 December.

Intriguing contests

Spain, defending champions from the 2000 finals in Guatemala, have been drawn in Group A with host nation Chinese Taipei, along with European rivals Ukraine and either Egypt or Mozambique. The other three European nations who qualified for these finals, the fifth staging of the global event, were all kept apart.

Tough section

Reigning European title-holders Italy are in Group C along with the United States, Japan and Paraguay, while the Czech Republic are in Group B with Australia, Brazil and Thailand. Arguably the toughest section is Group D, which will see Portugal up against Iran, Cuba and Argentina.
