English Futsal Expects!

With the expectation of the English Futsal community on their shoulders Sheffield Hallam Futsal Club take to the world stage over the weekend.

The EIS is playing host to the debutant teams from Albania and Bulgaria as a round robin format unravels from the 10th to 12th September.

News from the Sheffield camp is good with spirits high and no injury concerns to mention. Training over the past weeks has reached new levels of intensity and the team are eager to commence.

Hallam have wisely been keeping squad details an in-club privy, however, rumour has it that Mike Corran, twin brother of Jay, has been training with the squad and assisting with preparations. Mike’s experience gained playing futsal throughout Europe over the past 5 years should prove invaluable to an already quality team brimming with up and coming talent.

So whilst his brother is playing professionally in Romania, Mike will be playing in UEFA Futsal Cup for Sheffield Hallam FC.

Media speculation is that several other Team England futsal players will be making their Futsal Cup debuts this weekend in what promises to be a festival of futsal.

‘…………this is great news for Futsal in England……Sheffield Hallam are a quality team full of latent talent. If they can gel as a team when it matters then I foresee only one winner. Sheffield Hallam are the current holders of the Futsal England Trophy and we are proud of our association with them’. commented Lucy Dobson-Ward, newly appointed head of marketing at Futsal England.
