The "shortest" group of the
UEFA Futsal Cup first round went to the Ukrainian club
Shakhtar Donetsk. It's definitely not a surprising result considering the value of the Ukrainian
dream team, which forms the greatest blocks of the Ukrainian national team, twice European Vice-Champion, including the head coach
Oleg Solodovnik, assistant of Hennady Lysenchuk in the national team.
We mentioned the
short formula of the group that was unfortunately due to the missing Israeli champion: Israeli league didn't complete the play off series for financial problems and could not crown a winner, making unuseful the preliminary round played in Sheffield. As expected the deciding match to reach the second stage, after the easy victories of Shakhtar and Rubeola Csomor over the Bulgarian squad
MAG Varna was played in the last day. Ukrainian experience and talent went out and gave Shakhtar a deserved place in the semifinal stage.
Ramis Mansurov (Shakhtar Donetsk) was the group best scorer with 4 goals scored.
