We definitely don't want to give a rhetorical and tearjerker information but the surprising qualification of Svea Lesna Litija in the group 7 of the UEFA Futsal Cup seems to be the best way to remember two young and talented players who died some months ago leaving a terrible void in Slovenian and international futsal: Jozè Pavsek and Elvir Macanovic. We're happy to see that Svea Lesna is still the main representative of Slovenian futsal and was able to react to the bad period of the last season winning again the Slovenian title and now reaching an impressive result against one of the European top club like Arzignano Grifo. The Italian team was the expected winner of the group, having the chance to count on some of the most talented and experienced futsal players like Marcio, Vander Carioca, Sandrinho and Adriano Foglia. A thrilling come back of Svea Lesna in the deciding match against Arzignano, with the final goal scored by Igor Osredkar changed the destiny of group 7.
Satisfactory results for the Latvian champions Bugroff Riga with their new Belarus coach Siarhei Safanov: the first ever Latvian victory in European futsal is arrived thanks to the deciding goal by Jurijs Idionovs (according to Bugroff he is the real author of the goal, not Juris Karasauskas as reported by UEFA). Disappointing experience for the hosting club Turan Air Baku. The Azeri squad, with the help of a lot of Brazilian players, couldn't avoid the last place in the group.
