Orlando Duarte, Portuguese national team coach, selected 12 players for the next international tournament in Tavira, São Brás de Alportel and Castro Marim, which will take place since October 21st to 24th. One new name for Duarte: Silvio (Sílvio Miguel Gaspar Roda), the Sporting Pombal goalkeeper.
Portugal will face Belgium, England and Hungary in the Algarve tournament 2004.
In the meanwhile a bad news is coming from Portugal: Pedro Costa will probably miss the World Championship in Chinese Taipei due to the fifth metatarsus fracture of the right foot.
