WHAT MONEY DO TOP FUTSAL PLAYERS EARN? There are a number of professional futsal leagues around the world, where players get varying amounts of money. Shamsaee, the star Iranian player has just been offered US$15000 a month to play for Spartak Moscow. In Australian dollars $21,000 or $252,000 a year. Certainly not anywhere near what Beckham or Kewell earn, but still not bad for playing something you love. Perhaps one of the Aussie boys at the World Cup may get noticed?

STATE NEWS
MASTERS GAMES This weekend sees the playing of the ASPAC Masters is being played at the Gold Coast. Games are at Bond University Indoor Stadium Saturday and Sunday in both men's and women's comps, and results will be posted on the home page website on Monday. We remind all our potential masters that at the Senior Regional Titles in February we will have Over 30, Over 40, and Over 50 men and Over 30 women. COUNTRY TITLES The Caloundra Country Titles are next weekend the 13th/14th November. One of our biggest club tournaments of the season sees competitions in all age groups from 10 year boys up to open men, and 12 year girls up to open women. If you have not already entered contact Rachel on 38752600 or email r.hume@qldfutsal.com.au
OTHER REGIONAL TITLES A reminder also that the Toowoomba Country Titles are also coming up on the weekend of 27th/28th November and you can get an entry form by again contacting Rachel or pick one up at the Caloundra Country Titles. Townsville is having the North titles on the 4th/5th December and Cairns the Far North Titles on 11th/12th December. Again you can enter both and to get further details contact Scott in Townsville on scott.c@qldfutsal.com.au or Tony in Cairns on tony.c@qldfutsal.com.au And finally the big one in Brisbane, the BRISBANE CUP on the 11th/12th December. Entries again from Rachel.
REGIONAL TRIALS Some of the trials for regional representative sides are now starting to be organized in the different regions. Most of the city regions run trials while the country regions are selected at their Regional Titles. Note that this season, the regional you play for is based on where you live, not where you play. This may affect some people but unfortunately last titles we had the problem of people conveniently playing at a centre for a few weeks, just to qualify for that region. There will be circumstances where a player can't play for their region and in that case, if both regions agree, they can play for a second region. If you are unsure about the qualifications for representing a region, contact Nicola on n.zammit@qldfutsal.com.au or 38752600.
INSURANCE On the website homepage, we have put up details as to how to make an insurance claim and what you are covered for. The 'clickon" is listed on the left hand side of the home page.

AND NOW FOR SOMETHING COMPLETELY DIFFERENT ( more next week......)
JOKE ONE A father takes his little five year old to watch his local Futsal team play. Our little girl, very bored at half time, asks her father " Daddy, does our team ever score?" " I don't know honey," he answered. "I've only been supporting them five years." To keep up with some quotes from famous English soccer managers/commentators, here are some from ex Manchester United manager and TV commentator Ron Atkinson :
'I would not say that he (David Ginola) is one of the best left wingers in the Premiership, but there are none better.'
'They've come out at half time and gone bang.'
''I've had this sneaking feeling throughout the game that it's there to be won...'
'I would also think that the replay showed it to be worse than it actually was.'
'I think that was a moment of cool panic there.'
'Beckenbauer has really gambled all his eggs.'
'If Glenn Hoddle said one word to his team at half time, it was concentration and focus.'
'They must go for it now as they have nothing to lose but the match.'
Someone in the England team will have to grab the ball by the horns.'
'He's not only a good player, but he's spiteful in the nicest sense of the word.'
'Tony Adams - he's the rock that the team has grown from.'
'...and he [Peter Schmeichel] extends and grows even bigger than he is.'
'They've done the old-fashioned things well; they've kicked the ball, they've headed it...'
'They've picked their heads up off the ground, and they now have a lot to carry on their shoulders.'
'Well, either side could win it, or it could be a draw.'
THAT'S ALL FOLKS...SEE YOU NEXT WEEK
