On December 28th Chinese Taipei Football Association celebrated it's 80th year. The celebration was low-key as the Association's General Secretary CHANG Chan Wei has resigned from his post on the same day.

Mr.CHANG was the head of the "Futsal World Championship Organizing
Committee of Chinese Taipei" and his effort was instrumental to bring the World Championship to Taiwan. His resignation brings up many questions such as:

*will he continue his post as the Futsal Committee Chairman ?

*would Mr.Knabben (the coach of the Futsal national team) stays in his post, as he was invited to Taiwan personally by Mr.Chang?

*would Mr.Chang's two daughters who are employed by Chinese Taipei FA stay in their current positions?

It is expected that a new General Secretary will be appointed by the Chinese Taipei FA president Mr.HUANG Shih Chang.

There are 3 youth Futsal tournaments scheduled for 2005 in Chinese Taipei.

None of the three tournaments are organized by the Chinese Taipei FA .

1st and the 3rd tournaments are organized by TFA.
TFA (Taipei Football Association) is a private association created by Mr. KAO Yong, a former national team player and national team coach. Mr Kao is currently the coach of Ming-Chuan University team. He supports the development of the sport by organizing local youth teams all around Taipei area which practices on Weekends, and all the youth teams are coached by his Ming-Chuan players.

At the this years (Aug.2004) TFA Summer Futsal Cup , a record 89 teams competed.

The second tournament is a 6 team (U-10) league, organized by SCSC and sponsored by a local charity organization called JUN-SIN FOUNDATION.

SCSC is a local youth futsal club founded in 2000 and coached by a Turkish futsal fan , Mr.KALE who came to Taiwan 14 years ago.

It is remarkable that, this is the first time (in any age group) that a LEAGUE-FORMAT tournament, which will continue for four months, has ever been created in Taiwan !
