Iranian Futsal
Interesting news from Iran. The new edition of the Iranian Super League is coming. An important change will introduce the new league: 14 teams, instead of 12, will take part in the competition, that will starts on next February.

Isfahan will host the play-off stage of Iranian Super league since January 13th until 15th, to decide which clubs will stay in the best league.

Division one (the Iranian second division) was played in two groups in the last season: the groups winner, Iran Khodro and Sazman Bazargani were qualified for the next Superleague.

Both runner up, (Dabiri Tabriz and Post Isfahan) will fight with the last Superleague "bottom" teams (Chini Hamgam Shahrekord and Shahrdari Tonekabon) in the play - out stage. This mini-league of 4 teams will qualify the best two clubs for the next Superleague.

A bad news is coming from Pas Tehran. As we announced at the end of the last tournament they decided to close their futsal team. Pas Tehran won the Iranian Super League in 2003. It's the second time that an Iranian champion disappear, considering that the same happened with Peyman Tehran, the winner of two first seasons of the Super league (1999 & 2000).

"Azad University" will replace Pas Tehran in the next Superleague.
