New England Futsal
Bill Sampaio announces the formation of New England Futsal, (NEF) a family of futsal leagues, training academies and programs committed to providing the best that there is in futsal training and competitions throughout the New England region. The formation of NEF coincides with the launching of the new NEF website at: www.newenglandfutsal.com. "The new website becomes a vital resource for program and league participants and coaches to stay in touch with game scheduling, team standings and news updates, like the cancellations we just experienced with the recent blizzard that halted all league games including the 2005 Massachusetts State Cup sponsored by the Norfolk County Futsal League", says Sampaio.

All of our affiliates are United States Futsal Federation sanctioned programs. The United States Futsal Federation is the national governing authority that oversees all Futsal league development, policies and competitions throughout the United States under the auspices of the United States Youth Soccer Association and FIFA. USFF President, Alex Para has been very supportive of our programs and has assisted us in transforming our manual registration process to a fully computerized system which makes it tremendously easy to re-register players from season to season.

Sampaio notes that the popularity of the game of Futsal amongst the children as players and the parents as fans has enabled our leagues to experience a good degree of growth in a reasonably short amount of time and it, quite simply, came time for us to either get a bit more organized and prepare for further growth and development of our existing programs as well as be able to handle new programs under development now. "This approach is proactive", says Coach Sampaio. "It was either step up and address the opportunity at hand or simply continue in a direction of developing splintered programs here and there, in more of a make-shift fashion". The formation of New England Futsal allows us to implement some basic protocol that we feel will enable success in fostering consistently proper development of the sport of Futsal in our region as a whole and specifically at the leagues and programs we oversee. We also understand the need to continue to allow each program and / or league to maintain the flexibility it needs to address it's particular local, demographics, stage of development and purpose, i.e.: recreational, competitive, inter-scholastic, or dedicated youth or adult programs.

We invite readers to take the time to visit our website at: http://www.newenglandfutsal.com and to visit one of our leagues during game days to see the excitement Futsal offers players and fans alike. New England Futsal is Here! Here to Stay!
