RUSSIAN SUPERLEAGUE
ROUND 11
The Russian Classic The matches between CSKA vs Dina were one of the most interested and awaited games in round 11. They have always been tense and dramatic. Though the history of those matches did not favor CSKA, everyone understood that time there would be a real struggle with no mercy. Both red-blue players and their yellow-green opponents set hopes on the second part of the championship. Both teams try to do their best to have their only task carried out to win medals no matter what they are. So, as CSKA as Dina needed points.
On the eve of round 11 Arkady Bely, Dina's assistant coach, resumed: To be honest I don't see predictable winners in these games. There is not any previous winning side. Practically we have the same teams, players of an equal level and the same problems. We had lost a lot of points before. But there is no way back. So, every team can win or lose or make a draw twice.
EURO-1999 champion was partly right. However, CSKA problems looked much more critical. Alexander Babkin, red-blue coach, had no people to present two strong quartets. Arsh and Kopeikin have not been playing for a long time because of injuries. After returning from Ekaterinburg Serguei Antipov, best CSKA scorer, had a bad influence. Some days before the first match CSKA administration put Alexander Krasilnikov on the playing list of Superleague. Earlier this 24 years guy had played for Spartak Moscow. The other new player came from the Ukraine. To be more precise from F.C. Alexander Kharkov. That was
Artem Kovalev who played for its national team at the latest University World Championship. Unfortunately, Artem that had already signed up his 2,5 years contract with CSKA, could not join his new partners till Monday, January, 17.
The first match ended with a draw. In general, the opponents played rather good, even nice. CSKA attacks changed Dina combinations regularly. Both goalkeepers, Tolstikhin and Samokhin, were at their best. Only Sergueev and M. Mares found luck. 1:1 that was a draw after first twenty minutes. The score was logical and right. Then dark time came. Not for Dina but for CSKA. Fedor Zinchenko played very roughly. He was given two yellow cards. At minute 26 Fedor was sent off. Three red-blue players had to resist a special Dina's "brigade" (Levin, Bely, Verizhnikov, Markin) that as a rule uses such circumstances. When they have one player more it is too difficult to oppose. They scored, as expected. That time was not exception. 1:2 Dina's veteran Verizhnikov was brilliant. However, CSKA saved the match. Sergueev scored his second goal from 10 metres.
Alexander Babkin:
- That was a rather difficult match. My players did all they could. I think they got a very important point. Our player Fedor Zinchenko looked like a wicked genius. He got two yellow cards, left CSKA in minority and on the following day he would not take part in the match. I cannot explain his behaviour. He spoiled our playing. Krasilnikov and A. On January, 15 there were seven red-blew players against eight from Dina. As you see, the conditions were not equal. The whole period (first twenty minutes) the hosts acted as perfect as guests. Both goalkeepers Voronin and Putintsev were good too. 0:0 a simple draw with elements of Futsal show after first twenty minutes. Then it became obvious that red-blew guys felt absolutely tired. The guests didn't miss their chances to lead 2-0. They also could score more especially after the CSKA answer Chugunov kicked well, a ball touched Krasilnikov and flew to the goal. Of course, CSKA played five against four field players at the last minute. But without any effect
Alexander Babkin:- Our players tried to win. There is nothing with what we can charge them. In a week we will play with eight, probably nine guys. The dark time must end. I am sure of this. Most of all I rely on Serguei Antipov. After he recovers we will play much better. Roman Mares (Dina Moscow) vs Serguei Sergueev (CSKA) (Photo courtesy: CSKA Moscow)
