First of all, we are in need of a clarification about the introduction of this Futsalplanet Awards' new category. We definitely know that many of the players included in the list are still almost unknown to the greatest part of futsal fans, so that the final standing could not match with the real values of International futsal (at least in the lower part of it). Anyway, we decided to do it, in the strong belief of the basic role that youth futsal must play in future. We think there is no way to develop futsal withouth youth players. Considering that, until today, the only (or almost only) country that seems to have got this point is Brazil, there is no surprise in finding three talented brazilian young players at the top of the standing, all of them originally coming from Ulbra. The final victory for the Best Young Player (Under 21) of the Year category went to Fernando Do Nascimento Cosme "Fernandinho" (273 points), new star of Azkar Lugo, recently voted as the best player of the Copa de Espana. The Futsalplanet Awards podium was completed by the current UD Boadilla Las Rozas' player "Rafael" Franca Bezerra De Lira (2nd place, 191 pts) and the Ulbra's pivot "Renato" Severino Barbosa (3rd place, 171 pts).
The final results were determined by 276 valid votes for a total amount of 4140.
