The 2005 Chinese futsal national league will start on february 26th in Shanghai, where will be played the first round. Five futsal clubs will take part in this year’s tournament. The league will play three rounds in three different cities for this year. The 2nd and 3d round will be played in Wuhan and Guangzhou. The Beijing and Chengdu rounds are suspended due to financial reason.

Chinese national futsal league has suffered a setback in titling sponsorship and the withdrawal of club sponsors. After the Dalian Shide Futsal club pulled out the national league by the last round in last season, the sponsors for Beijing and Chengdu futsal clubs withdrew subsequently, which had as a consequence a poor finance for these two clubs.

It is the second year that the management in Chinese football association has not found the sponsorship to support the national competition. This provoked great difficulties to the local futsal clubs in order to survive financially. However, Chinese league created the basis of the futsal players group that played in the Chinese national futsal team, led by the brazilian coach Farinha, obtaining an historical result in the international competition by winning the first game in AFC futsal championship 2003 beating Malaysia and having a tie against the Asian futsal powerhouse Thailand.
