From the 10th to the 14th of January, the Australian Futsal Federation held the National Futsal championships in Canberra, the capital City of Australia. Seven states in total participated, including our neighboring country, the Solomon Islands. At this tournament, Fair Referee 101 proudly donated a Solid Silver trophy working whistle, with its unique I.D number – 140105, to the Best Referee. The winner was Andrew Best, a young and up-and coming Referee who was chosen out of 40 referees from all over Australia, by the national Referee co-coordinators Ron Luce, and Geoff McGuiness as the referee who portrayed the qualities possessed by a Fair Referee.

It was a fantastic tournament for both Referees and Players, with teams spanning all age groups 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, youth and open men and women. New South Wales were the overall winners of the tournament– having had most teams reach and win the final games.

Fair Referee 101, was also honoured to present a whistle to John Levell, a senior referee, for his services provided to the Futsal refereeing family for over 35 years.
