Ilves Fs won Finnish premier league. After 16 matches Ilves Fs gained an amount of 38 points, while Ruutupaidat, that closed on the second place this year, was only one
point behind. Third place went to VALO that had 31 points. In the last matchday Ilves Fs defeated Mad Max 3-2 and Ruutupaidat beat VALO 4-3.
After the regular season Ilves Fs was on the third place 2 points behind Ruutupaidat that was in the top place. In the Upper Group Ilves Fs won all matches obtaining 15 points from those games.
Ilves Fs can take this season the double because they are still competing to win also Finnish futsal Cup. One reason to their success is their excellent defence.
“Ruutupaidat conceded 20 goals more than we did. Another important reason is our very equal and wide player material.” says coach of Ilves Fs
Jouni Pihlaja. “But in the future we have to use our scoring chances more efficiently.” Pihlaja also says that all the teams were very good this season and premier league was very interesting: “All the teams have developed a lot, especially their tactical knowledge.”
As the champion Ilves Fs will play in the autumn again in the UEFA Futsal Cup.
