Dell announces Futsal.... England squad

The National Futsal Coach Graeme Dell today confirmed his squad for the forthcoming Four Nations Tournament in Villeneuve d'Ascq, France next week.

His 14-man squad includes seven new caps, and reflects the increase of players now involved in Dell's own Futsal Programme for the development of England’s Futsal players.

York City’s former Blackburn Rovers starlet Darren Dunning and former England U17 international Marek Szmid are notable additions who receive their first England call up.

It will be a testing time for the squad without the redoubtable keeper Graham Smith who broke a finger in January and there are still no signs of any involvement in the team for the only British Futsal Professionals, Jay Corran and Andy Reading currently playing in Romania.

Bemoaning a lack of consistency from his squad over the past 2 years. Dell remains upbeat and is hopeful of notching up a first victory.

"I am excited by the new additions....... these lads have earned the chance to show what they can do against an experienced French team".

One notable inclusion is the technically gifted Marc Canham who gains his 9th cap in France. Hopefully his guile and determination will prove sufficient inspiration for this young squad.
