18/03/2005 Brazilian coach for Iranian National team
Important news from Brazil. Jurandir Dutra de Azeredo is the new coach of the Iranian National team. The former Under 20 team coach of UCS/Metalcorte will travel to Tehran next week, as was confirmed by Iriff to sign a four months contract (after the AFC Championship in Vietnam will be decided to renew or not the agreement), according to our information, together with the Brazilian physical trainer Edmilton Picoli who already collaborated with the Iranian national team in previous occasions, like in Chinese Tapei World Championship. Jurandir Dutra de Azeredo will replace the former head coach Ansarifard, who could stay in the staff as technical manager of the national team.
The first trainings staged by the new head coach should start since March 27th in the Azadi complex in Tehran. In this occasion 37 players were invited to take part by Ansarifard, before leaving his charge.
Iranian National team can now count on the Iranian Oil Company sponsorship and is going to hold a 4-side tournament since April 16th to 18th in which will take part the Oil Company team, the Iranian National team, and 2 teams from abroad to be confirmed.
Talking about the players list for the training camp, we have to underline as 5 players who were in Chinese Taipei selection are not invited:
Babak Masoumi (Age: 33) Kazem Mohammadi (Age: 32) Siamak Dadashi (Age: 31) Reza Heidarian (Age: 30) Farhad Fakhim (Age: 21)
About the first three ones, it seems they've retired from International matches and won't be invited to Team Melli anymore, maybe the same about Reza Heidarian (still to be confirmed).
