RUSSIAN SUPERLEAGUE

ROUND 15

50 VS 1500

Round 15 of the Russian Superleague Championship 04/05 is over. CSKA trip to Tyumen was more successful than the journey of red-blue players to Shelkovo. Four points more were added to the table. At the moment the Moscow team goes seventh and still conserves chances to get the fifth position. The most important thing is to win as much as possible. In such case the season won't be fatal for CSKA.

Red-blue machine is still under repair. Some people returned to the field. But CSKA head coach Alexander Babkin needs a little time to reconstruct «team chains». As for CSKA captain Alexander Kopeikin he is partly ready to play. Surely, on April he will come into the ground. Now Babkin has to act without one oh his leaders.
The first match in Tymen looked smart. Few goals are only element of disappointment for spectators. Both keepers made a lot of saves. Posts also helped them. CSKA led the score twice. If Babkin had had at his disposal S. Antipov, the first CSKA line would have find more goal occasions. But S. Antipov watched the match sitting on the fans grade. At the same time Tyumen set hopes on its magnificent player Denis Abyshev. One of the Russian heroes of EURO-2005 proved again his coach could trust him at the turning point of a game. He scored twice and «stole» the victory from the guests.

Alexander Babkin (CSKA head coach):

- I wish we had won once again. I think today there were equal sides on the ground. Probably one team could reach success. Both we and our opponents needed one goal more. Both CSKA and Tyumen could win only with such difference. Unfortunately Serguei Antipov was suspended. I put Arsh into the first quartet instead of him. It pressed the Tyumen defense greatly. But the opponents were strong too. To my mind the spectators liked the game. Both sides deserved good marks. But for me everything was as emotional as very nervous. The game added grey hair to my head.

On the following day about 50 CSKA fans visited Tyumen. Their stand was decorated in red and blue colours. They shouted and sang so loudly that it was difficult to hear Tymen supporters (over 1500 ones). CSKA had advantage and should have won with great difference. Unfortunately the guys had no luck while shooting on goal. That is why only two times the ball flew into the net. However, the necessary result – three total points – was achieved.

Alexander Babkin (CSKA head coach):

- When the Antipovs play together, we get a real chance to beat any team. I am happy because we win. To be more precise, I am satisfied with the result (a victory is always a victory), but I did not like the final parts of most of our attacks. We moved very well, faster then the opponents. We had much free space to hold all our combinations. We shot on goal so often that the guys should have scored a lot of goals. Two ones are too few. The effect of all our attacks was very low. It annoys my colleagues and me. That is why at the last minute of the match when Tyumen ran forward with five field players we were not sure of three points in our pocket. Any trouble could turn out… Of course we had no right to lose two points more. It would be unjustifiable. We will try to avoid such trouble situations in the near future. If you have got a good advantage during the whole match, you must take three points without fuss that lasts too long.
