The regular season of the Romanian First Division 2004/2005 is over. After 26 round, all is ready for the play off series to assign the national title, with great expectations on Bodu Bucuresti to conquer the second title in a row. The play off series will be "attended" by the first six teams at the end of the regular season, with a new formula: the first classified will start with 6 points, 2nd with five and so on, until reaching the sixth team starting with one point. At the bottom of the table the first verdicts are arrived: Pandurii Targu Jiu and Venus Timisoara are relegated in second division, while Senic Craiova and Eurolines will face the 3rd and 4th of second division (FC Seini and Ymy Pandurii Targu Jiu) in the play out series. From the second division Athletic Club Pitesti and United Galati obtained a place in first division for the next season, while FC Bacau and Real Alexandria were relegated in third league. Play out series will be played by Cosmos Pitesti and Moldocor P. Neamt against third division clubs Metropolis Bucuresti and Informatica Timisoara.

The draw for the play offs and play out series will be done on March 31st.
