AFCFutsal tournament for Sri Lanka Division One clubs23 March 2005Sri Lanka - The inaugural futsal tournament for Sri Lanka’s Division One clubs will begin on March 27 at the Reid Avenue Astro Turf.
All the 16 First Division teams will participate in this five-a-side tournament which will give them a new competitive edge.
The Football Federation of Sri Lanka (FFSL) launched futsal last year with a tournament for the Premier teams and it was won by Java Lane Sports Club. They are confident that the game will be much popular in the future and the clubs will be keen to play futsal as a competitive game.
