Inaugural futsal tournament in Lebanon

The Lebanese Football Association (LFA) has organised a futsal tournament in the northen part of Lebanon. The tournament consists of twenty four teams who have been divided into six groups.

The secretary of the Futsal competition, Jihad Al Hashem said, "Futsal is an important game and it is growing in its popularity. It is a game that can help a player improve his skill and with that hopefully to decrease serious injuries."

On the opening day of the inaugural championships, Al Ijtimai beat Othman Corporation, Id Biad Council defeated Almahbah and Almoda won against Ashbal Alminaa.

Lebanon has been taking part consistently in the Futsal competitions of FIFA and AFC
