Chinese University Futsal League

The second china university futsal league is underway

With the joint efforts of the Federation of University Sports of China and the Beijing Lining sport development company, the second Chinese University futsal league has been started from november 2004 to june 2005. There are 14 regions and cities involved in this league and it's estimated that at least 226 university teams are participating in this league across the whole country.

The league has been planed into 2 stages of regional selections and national finals. On the first stage, the competitions are to be held in the 14 regions and cities, which are as follows: Beijing ,Tianjin, Shanghai, Liaoning, Shandong, Jiangsu, Guangdong, Hunan, Hubei, Shanxi, Sichuan, Zhejiang, Fujian, Yunnan.

The local education committees are authorized to organize the first stage competitions in respective regions from november 2004 to april 2005.

The 14 regional champions will qualify for the national final along with the last national champion team and the host university team. On the national finals stage, from may-june 2005, in Donghua university of Shanghai, the 16 teams will be splitted into 4 groups with last champion team, host team and teams from the same regions as the previous two teams as the seeded teams of the each group. The best two teams of each group will qualify for the quarter finals which are the knockout stage to semifinals.

The first Chinese University futsal league was inaugurated in October 2003 and finished in July 2004. There were 295 university teams from 13 regions all over China taking part in the league. The Shenyang University of Technology defeated Sichuan University to become the first National Champion, while Sichuan University was the runner up.
