Some important news came from South American Futsal (Special thanks to Patricio Knaudt - Arsenal Futsal).

- World Champs 2008

As was already known, one of the main candidates to host the next World Futsal Championship 2008 is Brazil. The new point is that all the South American confederation (CONMEBOL) countries will support Brazil in its effort to host it.

- Conmebol Cup 2005 (Sudamericano de Clubes)

The "Sudamericano de Clubes" - Zona Sur will be played in Asuncion (Paraguay) on next July (18th to 24th). It will include two clubs from each of the following country: Paraguay, Argentina, Uruguay, Chile and Bolivia

Brazilian clubs will play for the last time in the Zona Norte, then will pass into the Zona Sur, hosting the next edition in 2006, as well as the 2007, 2008, 2009 and 2010 editions will be respectively played in Uruguay, Chile, Argentina and Paraguay again, according to the turnover system decided by Conmebol.

- Women futsal: great news

In november 2005 will be played the first ever edition of the South American Championship for Women National teams. The host country should be Brazil. Just in case of a good number of participating countries, the championship will be shared in two zones: Zona Sur in Brazil and Zona Norte in Colombia.

- Odesur Games

The ODESUR (Organización Deportiva Sudamericana) games 2006 will be played in La Paz (Bolivia), and futsal should be included in the games programme. Just in case futsal will not be included, it will be organized the second edition of the Copa America to replace it.

ODESUR includes the Olympic committees of the 10 South American Countries.
