The first kick-off was taken by the Turkish Football Federation Chairman Mr. Levent Bicakci to start the first ever futsal league in Turkey: Turkish University Futsal Championship. Mr.Bicakci told reporters that Football Federation is committed developing Futsal in Turkey, and the quickest way is through a University Championship, where they can reach to the young players from every corner of the country.

The first round of the championship took place at the Avcilar Gymnasium of Istanbul University.
