Commentary by
Mahdiar GhaffariNIOC 11 - 2 SASThe host of the tournament who had lost to Japan very closely, and only on penalties, played another great match in the second day. Although Molaei was one of the best players of NIOC against Japan in semi-final this time the coach let 33 years old Asghar Ghahremani (the member of national team in Guatemala 2000) to start the match as goalie. They started the match very strongly and scored 3 times in only 7 minutes. Then the match became more balanced, till Mojtaba Ahangaran could settle the score to 4-0 in the 19th minute. The second half started following by a Swedish goal scored by the Turkish player Kücügöl. Then NIOC began a goal festival, scoring 6 times in 14 minutes. This match was going to be ended with another Swedish goal, scored by Stockholm All Stars' captain Tony Bergquist, when Mojtaba Ahangaran scored NIOC's 11th goal to be a hat trick hero. NIOC named the most offensive team of the tournament with 15 scored goals.
IRAN 5 - 3 JAPANAfter a very close & hard semi-final against NIOC, Japanese team had to fight to Iran National team, for the title. Two Brazilian coaches began with the same starting five of the first day matches. The first opportunity missed by Hashemzadeh, when he delivered an almost perfect shot to the bar in 5th minute. Two minutes later, Japanese goalkeeper Kawahara didn't find any solution except stopping Majid raeisi in area, when he found himself face to face to the Iranian flank. Shamsaee gave Iran the lead with 1-0 by scoring from penalty. After scoring two goals from Hashemzadeh & Raeisi, it seemd that Iran would have an easy way to celebrate another win against Japan, but like the last matches between the two teams, Japan played more strongly in second half. The structure of the game started to change as Iran decided to pull back and meet their opponents in the defensive zone. Rikarudo Higa scored two of his impressive far shots to decrease the result to 3-2. His second goal was scored while he was wearing the goalie's jersey and Japan was attacking with 5 players. Kogure who had a terrible first half, played much better in the second 20 minutes. Japan was so close to the 3rd goal, but Reza Naseri kept the home side in the game with a magnificent save. After this save, the Iranian goalie surprised the opponents with a long pass to Javad Maheri who quite easily could score the 5th goal for Team Melli. Kogure kept the guests' hopes alive by shooting hard from close area, leaving Naseri no other option than to pick up the ball from the net. Just 4 seconds to the end, Offensive Japan lost the ball and Raeisi sent a volley to their goal, then there is no way for Japan's goalie in those seconds, Higa, but touching the ball with hands out of area. The referee sent him off and Shamsaee scored another penalty, this time from second point, to record the 5-3 win for Iran, the same as AFC Cup 2004 final match result that was held in Macau.
