Chinese national futsal team has been training in chengdu since april 12th to the end of the month. The training camp was organized as a preparation for the 7th AFC futsal championship to be played on next May in Vietnam.

The head coach for this training camp comes from the Wuhan Dilong futsal club: Mr. Xu Jian was the championship coach in season 2003/2004. There were 20 players from the 6 chinese professional futsal clubs attending the training camp, mainly from Wuhan team (7 players selected) and Chengdu futsal (5 players).

A final list of twelve players will be selected to form the China PR national team playing in Vietnam during the 7th AFC Championship.

The aim of Chinese team in this championship is to achieve the quarter-finals by taking advantage of the newly introduced plate competition.
Last year the brazilian Farinha headed Chinese team in the AFC futsal championship held in Macau after 1 month training in Chengdu. China beat Malaysia and drew against the Asian futsal power Thailand.
Mr. Farinha coached the Chengdu futsal for 5 months and got the runnerup in the league in 2003/2004 season.
