A young but immediately winning club. This is
SL Benfica for futsal world. Created just few years ago (season 2001/2002: the club from Lisbon replaced the first division team
Olimpico) the
Adil Amarante's team managed to conquer the second title of their history, closing in this way a perfect season in which they also obtained the
Cup title. Saturday in Lisbon a magnificent
Andrè Lima (five goals, four in the extra time!) drove back the last effort of their classic opponents of
Sporting Clube de Portugal. Benfica will therefore try to reach again the UEFA Futsal Cup final, in the hope to obtain a better result, beeing crowned as European Champion (in the past season they were defeated in the double final by Boomerang Interviu).
Below you can find both final matches details and a photogallery from the second and deciding match. Just a note: some pictures were sent by
Miguel Albuquerque and
Sporting CP. We're definitely happy to see that someone doesn't forget to develop futsal, even if after such a disappointed result. Parabèns Miguel!
