ENGLAND COACH SCOUTS FOR TALENT IN SHEFFIELD
England's national Futsal coach will be scouting for potential new talent at a tournament in Sheffield this weekend.
Graeme Dell is attending the FA National Futsal Finals, which is being staged at the English Institute of Sport - Sheffield on July 8 - 10.
The tournament provides Dell with an opportunity to cast a close eye over hundreds of the country's best players of FIFA five-a-side.
England is still relatively new to Futsal, with the national team launched in January 2004. However, the team has improved rapidly during this short period, rising almost 30 ranking places on the international stage.
Dell is now looking towards the qualifying stages of the 2007 European Championships and any players who grab his attention at the National Finals, could be invited to attend a training session at Lilleshall on September 25.
Graeme said: "I am planning to invite approximately 20 players which impress me at the Finals to the workshop. These will be ones we didn't know about before the tournament, but have shown potential.
"The finals will also give me an opportunity to look at the talent available and review the players we are already aware of.
"We started the national team with a blank sheet of paper and gradually the shape of this exciting game is taking shape. We are in an education phase and this takes time and patience, which we have."
