1st TAIPEI (Jun Sin) Youth Futsal League Report

The first Taipei Jun Sin Futsal League for U-11 Boys has just completed its first season on May 21, 2005 with the Shi-Chih (SCSC) taking all honors.

The Jun Sin Futsal League with six of the best club teams in the Taipei area were competing for trophies and medals and more importantly, bragging rights for a year as the best U-11 club team in the Taipei area. The competition was at a high level and the parents provided a lot of support to their favorite teams.

The league started in February and run through May 2005 and the teams with the best record would be crowned as the League Champions with awards for the Golden Boot for the player with the most goals and the Golden Glove for the best Goalkeeper. The season and the results were dominated by the SCSC who became the first league champions with 5 wins in 5 matches for the maximum 15 points. Second place went to TFA Da-Pong, a select team of the Taipei area’s school system. Da-Ciao beat Da- Pong in the last game of the season to capture third place. They were followed by Chien-An, Lie-Bao and Tien-Mu. Rounding out the awards, the Golden Boot went to top scorer, SCSC’s No.20 Can Kale with 8 goals followed by Chien An’s No. 12 Pey Cien who scored 4 goals in the last game of the season to raise his tally to 7 goals.

The Golden Glove went to SCSC’s No.1 Shian-Ruey. SCSC also ended up with the best attack and the best defense with 20 goals scored while only allowing a league leading 4 goals and to top it all off, SCSC is the youngest team in the league.

SCSC looks like a force to be reckoned in its age group for the next year and a half, as most of its leading players will still have eligibility in the U-11 age bracket.

All in all the first season for the Youth Futsal League seems to be a successful one as most of the matches were hard fought all season long.

Since the start of this first U-11 Futsal League in Taiwan, players of all of 6 teams have improved rapidly technically & tactically. Still, SCSC looks to have a better understanding of futsal and is likely to dominate their age group in the years to come in Taiwan.
