The belgian championship 2005/2006 has just began this Friday 2nd september. There are some surprises, starting with the draw of the Europeans Champions, Charleroi Action 21, in Lommel (two goals by the dutch star Merlino for the home team). The brazilian star Robinho saved his team, scoring the final goal five seconds before the end. The best player of the past season, the Brazilian Bettinho, scored an important goal for Morlanwelz in Seraing. Châtelet and Brussels were defeated in their home matches respectively by Houtalen-Genk (with the Dutch national team player Dick Hulshorst) and Borgerhout. Hasselt (though they lost the "orange" legend Edwin Grunholz now playing for the second division club K.K. Malle) and Antwerpen were easily winning over Koninksem and Enghien, newcomers in the national first division 1. Finally, Aarstelaar missed its debut in D1 by losing to Frameries.
