RUSSIAN SUPERLEAGUE

ROUND 1

NO YELLOW&GREEN REVENGE, NO RED&BLUE TRIUMPH

text by Vladimir Romanov

CSKA started with two games vs Dina Moscow. Such a fact looked rather symbolical. On the last round of the latest Championship red and blue team took four points in Chekhov (Dina's playing area). So, CSKA denied to the most titled club of Russia the bronze medal and as a result Dina came fourth in the final standing.

No doubt, for Serguei Kozlov's team there was a matter of revenge. For the Red Army team there was a moment to prove that the time to win such an opponent as Dina had come. And if at least CSKA needs the fifth position in the table it should win under any circumstances.
Both sides worked hard in summer. Alexander Babkin, CSKA head coach, prepared his guys in Moscow, Kislovodsk, Schelkovo and Ekaterinburg (in this city the team won Ural Cup). Dina went to Check Republic and Kazakstan (it took part in Tulpar Cup Tournament, Karaganda). So, everyone waited for a battle.

MATCH 1

On the first day many things remained unclear. CSKA won. But without the second victory the season start could not be considered successful. Really, two opposite sides looked good but not as if they had been ready to contest the first three positions in the national rating-list. The starting part of match 1 ended with a draw 1-1. Then something changed on the pitch. Opponents had many goal opportunities. After Vladuschenkov had scored at minute 29, red and blue guys moved much faster. They managed to press Dina's defensive line. At the same time the guests prepared their contra-blows and held some dangerous attacks. At last CSKA defender Oleg Maltsev found himself right in front of the opponents net. He received a ball and threw it under Dina's goalkeeper Putintsev. The score became equal.
Sooner CSKA held the same goal combination. That time Maltsev made a long vertical pass towards Arsh. As Maltsev four minutes ago, Kirill stood alone close to Putintsev. He scored just sending a ball above falling Putintsev. 3:2 – yet that was not a victory. At that time few spectators thought Arsh's shot would be crucial.
Arkady Bely, a legendary Russian Futsal player and now a new Dina's coach, took a time-out. Of course, he needed that pause to take measures in answer to CSKA score leading. As it was waited he decided to play with five field players. The fifth was another Russian Futsal legend – Mikhail Markin. The clearest goal opportunity for Dina was at 1'33'' to the end. Levin, Dina's forward, missed the empty net when falling made a strong kick.
So, everything remained the same. CSKA defended a wonderful (if we speak of the start of the season) result. Red Army team took three points though the opponents were close to a draw.

Alexander Babkin (CSKA head coach):
- When we were losing, I dreamed about the first point in the Championship. When we equalled the score I was ready to take those “2-2” as a just and logical result. But we won though Dina did not play worse than CSKA. I guess there was a matter of luck.

MATCH 2

On the second day, everything turned upside down. Dina destroyed red and blue defense. The guests made three goals out of nowhere. Three awful mistakes made by CSKA players helped them much. Before the interval there were three goals without any answer. Alexander Fukin, Dina's young pearl, shot at a distance of 7-8 metres without any opposition – 0:1. Then suddenly Oleg Maltsev touched a ball in CSKA goalkeeper area and it flew to the net – 0:2. At last CSKA new captain Alexander Antipov lost a ball, it was received by Dina's teenager Razorenov who “killed” CSKA keeper Riabov – 0:3.
Red and blue guys played better after the 10 minutes interval. 28 seconds passed from the beginning of the second part when Arsh scored. Unfortunately, his smart goal was annulated by A. Selikov, Russian best referee. A ball touched Kirill's hand. He did not play with his hand as Sisse, Liverpool striker, in UEFA Carlsberg Supercup match. Red and blue players did not lose their hope to save the game. Their attacks were incredibly fast and dangerous. But they brought no effect. By the way, to minute 30 CSKA had 5 fouls. It had to act carefully but it did not. Red Army team had no choice but to attack every time. Dina's crazy luck in defense overcame CSKA attempts to save the match. No salvation – no good result.
Both sides divided 6 points: 3 for CSKA, 3 for Dina. No revenge for the guests, no double victory for the hosts. The things remained the same.

Alexander Babkin (CSKA head coach):
- We lost the first half. To be honest CSKA failed it. The deadly first part of the game influenced the final result. We did not overvalue our victory at Ural Cup Tournament. We know CSKA needs more high-level players to avoid such dramatic changes from a match to a match.
